Bryan Teuscher, LCSW

Clinic Director

I have had the joy of connecting with and helping others since I was little, and I think that is what prompted me to go into the mental health field (well, that and because cardigans are my preferred business attire).

I enjoy the current work I do immensely. To get here, some of my benchmarks include a B.A. in Psychology and a Master’s in Social Work (MSW), both from BYU. I am a currently licensed LCSW in Utah and have completed training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

I grew up in Eastern Idaho with a strong love of the outdoors. That said, while I love hiking, camping, and the occasional fishing, I often pick an afternoon with a book over anything else. I am an impulsive traveler (usually deciding to go on a road trip an hour before leaving), and enjoy being with friends and family.

I’m a firm believer that all gatherings are better when food is included, and I avoid the gym like the plague, but I get exercise and sunshine in the mountains or by trying to develop my green thumb in my garden. (It’s still a work in progress).

Phoebe Kung, LCSW

My expertise is in challenges arising from anxiety/panic, depression, trauma, motivation issues, low self-esteem, and career difficulties. I also have experience with divorce and separation, isolation, or loneliness, and struggles with interpersonal relationships. I worked as a therapist at an inpatient psychiatric hospital and at a counseling clinic as well so I am familiar with different mental health disorders varying in severity. In my last job, I provided therapy for people of different ages, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, etc. I also know many community resources in the state of Utah and am happy to connect you with them if needed.

I was born in Hong Kong and grew up in the island of Hawai’i. My mother worked in the helping profession throughout her life and inspired me to take the same route. I have a B.A. in Psychology and a Master’s in Social Work from BYU.

Some fun facts about me – My husband and I have a son, along with lots and lots of furry animals. We love dogs and cats alike, and I recently adopted some chickens to join the family as well. I have been trying to pick up a green thumb by learning how to garden. On my spare time, I enjoy pulling weeds and finding goods at farmer markets.

Pam Hill, CSW

At times we all find ourselves in situations that we think no one else will understand. It’s easy to self-sabotage and self-criticize when you have no one to talk to. We often find ourselves putting up barriers instead of boundaries and unintentionally blocking those that want to help us. Therapy allows us to self-reflect, feel empowered, and increase our happiness.

I hope to provide an environment where you can feel safe to share your thoughts and feelings. My approach is from the strengths-based perspective. I believe we all have strengths that will allow positivity to come from our experiences.  I will help you build skills to overcome negative feelings and emotions so that you can become the version of yourself that you want to be.

As overwhelming as it may feel, take the next step to reach for help. I look forward to hearing from you and working with you to discover a person that is secure, strong, and confident.

We all have stressors. The question is: “how do we best cope and thrive?”

The good news is there are many tried and true approaches, evidence-based practices (EBPs) to help you get better and do better … no matter what combination of troubles! So, when I’m not planting trees or playing fetch with my dog Lolo that’s what I enjoy doing – collaborating with you to figure out what is causing your lack of ease (dis-ease) and work on getting you better. I’m passionate about it!

After losing my oldest son-in-law to addiction and suicide, I decided to get a masters in mental health and substance use disorders and learn all I could. The Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School taught how to treat the whole person with everything that is going on all at once. It’s called integrated recovery for co-occurring disorders. We are each uniquely complex and layered; so are our disorders that combine with a synergy to give us our unique dis-ease.

I am having fun living the best of my life … moment to moment … breath by breath. I’ve been through a lot in my 68 years! I have a few heroes I follow and a couple suggestions for you already: Dr. Shauna Shapiro (watch her YouTube TedTalk on Mindfulness), Deepok Chopra, Thich Nhat Hanh, Eckhart Tolle … just to mention a few … also check out Dr. Bruce Lipton – How to Reprogram Your Mind, on YouTube. There’s so much cool stuff to learn and directions to grow!

We are creators and explorers, but we are sometimes hobbled by programming and skills that no longer serve us. We are meant for fulfillment, and that’s what we all deserve.
